About Ostrander Insurance
Ostrander Insurance Agency was founded in 1979 by Dick Ostrander when he began operations in a downtown office in Franklin, MA. Dick’s father had encouraged him to start his own business, which he did shortly after graduating from Holy Cross College.
Several years after opening the Franklin location, a second office was opened in nearby Bellingham, MA in 1984. The Bellingham office building where the business is currently located was purchased in 1989. At that same time, a key hire was made when Lorraine Long joined the staff at Ostrander Insurance. Lorraine proved herself an invaluable asset to the business for over 25 years, acting as manager of the Bellingham office until her retirement a few years ago.
In 2013, a substantial addition was put on the Ostrander Insurance office building in Bellingham. The new expansion allowed for consolidation of both the Franklin and Bellingham offices into a single location with plenty of off-street parking in a bright, new setting.
Recognized for excellence
For as many years as can be recalled, Ostrander Insurance has received awards recognizing superior service. Readers Choice Awards has named them Best Insurance Agency in Bellingham, MA in their annual survey of local businesses each year since at least 2012.

Meet our team
Dick Ostrander
Dick grew up in Franklin, MA, graduating from Franklin High School in 1975. His insurance career began when he founded Ostrander Insurance in a downtown office in Franklin center just a few months after graduating from Holy Cross College in 1979.
He is a licensed Insurance Broker in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and also serves as a notary public in Massachusetts. Dick is actively involved in daily operations and enjoys working with clients new and old. He has been married over 30 years and has 3 sons.
Debbie Collins
Debbie worked part-time at the agency for 5 years before taking a permanent position in the agency in 2014.
She had been a long-time member of the special education department here in Bellingham and seems to know a countless number of former students and colleagues.
Paul Ostrander
Paul graduated from Stonehill College in 2012. His insurance career began in 2013 in Cambridge, MA where he became a licensed broker and notary public. Paul was a branch manager in Cambridge before joining his father and team members in Bellingham.
Paul is actively involved with the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents based in Milford, MA. He is Co-Chair of the Young Agents Committee and joins senior board members on trips to Washington, DC to speak with representative’s regarding national insurance issues. Paul lives in Hopkinton with his fiancé Jessie.
